Teaching Schedule -- Spring 2017
Orientation information for spring 2017 SOC 35 and SOC 3 classes will be e-mailed to your CCSF e-mail account approximately one week prior to the beginning of the summer term. There are no required on-campus meetings for the SOC 35 and SOC 3 classes, inclusive of exams. On campus orientation meeting available by appointment; please contact me using either Canvas e-mail or school e-mail (email@example.com) to make arrangements. Orientation materials will be available online once the term begins.
Students registered for Soc. 35 sections 831, 832, or Soc. 3 section 831 spring semester will be able to access the course via CCSF Canvas on the first day of this class -- Tuesday, January 17. Note that the class will not be available until the first official day of the spring term. The fall term runs from January 17, 2017 - May 21, 2017.
Information about adding Soc. 35 and/or Soc. 3: If the class is full when you attempt to register for it, I recommend that you register for the waitlist for the section you are wanting to add. If there is space on the wait list you will be offered that option during the registration process. Getting on the wait list is the only way to have the possibility of adding once the class is full; I do not keep a separate wait list beyond the official waiting list for these classes. If the wait list is full, I recommend checking back daily as people do drop off the list for various reasons. Please see Waitlist FAQ for more detail about the CCSF wait list process.
In closing, I recommend that you also visit CCSF's Distance Learning
website to prepare for your online learning experience (this link includes a link to an online learning preparedness assessment). This site has a
number of very helpful resources and information to consider before
class starts, especially if you are new to online learning.
Spring 2017 office hours (Batmale Hall 340). I will be available online via e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org) on Wednesdays from 7 p.m. - 8 p.m. In person office hours may also be arranged with request via e-mail. Note that e-mail will be returned within 48 hours with the exception of weekends and holidays.
PLEASE NOTE: We will be using CCSF's new online system -- Canvas -- this semester. All students using Canvas in the Spring will need a RAMID. Instructions for claiming your RAM ID -- click here .
